Health Benefits of Antioxidants

Antioxidants are compounds that counter all harmful and dreadful effects of free radicals that roam inside one’s body. Antioxidants are mostly found in fruits and vegetables (especially the green, leafy ones). Antioxidant fruits are those of the berries (grapes, blueberries, strawberries, acai berries, etc), oranges, apples, bananas, raisins and prunes.

Antioxidants do a lot inside our body, for example, they:

  1. help to achieve proper digestion of food thus promoting a good inflammatory system
  2. bring in tons and tons of vitamins and minerals
  3. strengthen the immune and nervous system
  4. reduce the risk of cancer
  5. strengthen the memory
  6. protect the body from free radicals
  7. nourish and rejuvenate the body skin
  8. support proper vision
  9. regulate cholesterol levels
  10. reduce the risk of diabetes and many other diseases

Antioxidants are best consumed through health supplements. The most common is the acai berry supplement or those rich in acai berry extracts.
