Commonly known as Sugar Apple in the international scene, but in the Philippines, it is called Atis. And it is grown to many provinces in the tropical country. Our neighborhood even has it. Like what they always say, it’s more fun in the Philippines! Well I say, with Atis, it’s more fun to be healthy in the Philippines.

Ang Atis bow! (Happy Bokeh Wednesday!)Atis is believed to be a cousin of Guyabano. Both antioxidant fruits look quite similar in some ways. Atis, only smaller compared to Guyabano, is also sweet in taste with a touch of creaminess.

Atis is very rich in antioxidants. And it is considered to be one of the miracle fruits noted today. It is rich in fiber that helps control sugar levels. Thus, prevents diabetes. It is also good for the digestive system giving you a normal regular bowel movement. Atis is also a good source of vitamin C. Eating two Atis a day is good for asthmatic persons as it reduces the risk of developing asthma.

Moreover, Atis is also a good source of potassium, vitamin B6, thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, magnesium, copper and folate. With these antioxidants, you are sure to live a healthy life. Atis is a great healthy fruit snack that keep your bones healthy. What more fun can you ask for when fun can be done in a healthy way with Atis in the Philippines.
