Share this post:

Barthel Fruit FarmThe Barthel Fruit Farm is in the business of growing healthy fruit since 1839. As fruit picking farms go, the Barthel family has apples, plums, strawberries, pears and cherries. Conscious of how the farm impacts the environment, the farm uses an integrated pest management system that successfully reduces the use of pesticide by 50%-75%. This is carefully monitored by the farm’s in-house entomologist with an experimental design for organic farming.

The Barthel Fruit Farm is one of those pick your own fruit farms that also offers gardening classes and seminars. This is open to anyone who wants to grow their own fruit and vegetables. The topics they feature include introduction to herb gardening, cooking with herbs, best weeding methods and more. If you have a particular topic you wish they would cover, you can email them at [email protected].

Located at 12246 N Farmdale Rd 99W, Mequon, Wisconsin, USA, picking for herbs and perennials starts in May while strawberries and sugar snap peas will be during the middle of June.
