One of the fruits that has been found to be of help is pomegranates. Also known as punica granatum, pomegranate for skin care is not an entirely new concept. Ancient times in Egypt and Greece recorded how this red fruit aided on various diseases like infections, digestive problems and arthritis. It is also a reoccurring ingredient of lotions and mixed salves to defy skin aging and improve skin quality.
Rich in antioxidants, pomegranates remove free radicals from your skin and help nutrients to enter and rejuvenate your body. Its seed extract contains an Omega 5 essential fatty acid known as Punicic acid. Skin inflammation due to stress, toxins and other negative elements are controlled because of the pomegranate oil.
