Red and Orange Fruits for Bone Health
Bone health is not always a priority for many people. The young rely on their bones being strong while middle aged people think that bone health problems comes with age. The factors that causes osteoporosis, arthritis and other bone and joint ailments include posture, food intake and sleep.
Calcium is often the solution most doctors offer to ensure that you will not get dysentery. Most popular source is milk. However, aside from milk, you need lycopene, a carotenoid to give you that edge of prevention. Although the danger is still there, the risk of having a lumbar or hip has ceased.
Inclusion of fruits like watermelon, strawberries, tomatoes, apples and pink grapefruit in your diet would mean stocking up on lycopene for healthy bones. These fruits are rich in phytonutrients like anthocyanidins, proanthocyanidins, beta-carotene, lycopene and ellagic acid.
Orange and yellow fruits like mangoes, oranges and pineapples also have the same nutritional advantage for your body to have strong bones. They have beta-carotene, alpha-carotene, beta-cryptoxanthin, lutein, zeaxanthin, quercetin and hesperidin.
