The Samascott Orchards is a family operated pick your own fruit farm located at 5 Sunset Ave., Kinderhook, New York, USA. Thirty minutes away from Albany, this fruit farm started as a dairy farm in the 1900s however it became a fruit farm with 5 apple varieties during the 1970s.
Currently, the Samascott Orchards is home to more than 50 apple varieties and other fruit and vegetables. Depending on its availability, you pick strawberries, sweet cherries, blueberries, peaches and apples are open to all visitors.
U-pick schedule is from June to November. The fruit farm is open daily from 8am to 6pm. You can bring your own containers or you can purchase them at the farm. There’s no admission fee but a minimum of $5 worth of produce is required upon check out.
From the farm store, you can get ice cream, cider, pies and more. If there’s a particular apple variety you want to get for a friend or family member, the Samascott Orchards can ship them a box. You can contact [email protected] for more details.
